IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and the Austrian Academic Library Consortium have concluded a Read and Publish agreement for the period from 2025 to 2027, enabling corresponding authors affiliated with the institutions listed below to publish Open Access in IEEE’s gold and hybrid journals at no additional charge.

Who is eligible?
Authors affiliated with a participating member institution in the role of 'corresponding author' and who submit the article. IEEE identifies eligible authors through one or more of the following parameters as part of the submission workflow: affiliation, institutional email address, Ringgold ID, grant ID.
Which article types are eligible?
Peer-reviewed articles: peer-reviewed research papers and letters. Upon written confirmation by Licensee "review articles" and "reports" are eligible, too.
What license options are available?
CC BY 4.0 is the preselected license option, but authors may change it to CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
When do authors have to be affiliated with a participating member institution to be eligible for funding?
Authors must be affiliated with a participating member institution on the acceptance date.
What costs are covered by the agreement?
Article Processing Charges (APCs) are fully covered by the agreement. Page or Color Charges - if applicable - are not covered by the agreement.
